Malaga and Cordoba Draw in a Tense and Eventful Match at La Rosaleda
Malaga, Spain – In a hard-fought match at the Estadio La Rosaleda, Malaga and Cordoba drew, in a game marked by intensity and controversy. The match, corresponding to matchday 13 of the Segunda División, left a bitter-sweet taste for both teams.
Malaga dominated possession with 60%, seeking to impose their game from the start. However, Cordoba proved solid in defense, although resorting to a tough game that resulted in numerous fouls (22) and yellow cards. The first half passed without goals, but with a lot of tension on the field.
In the second half, the game opened up. R. Rodriguez put Malaga ahead in the 59th minute with a goal after an assist from V. Garcia. The local joy was short-lived, as A. Fuentes equalized for Cordoba in the 63rd minute, assisted by Alex Martín. Cordoba suffered a setback with the expulsion of C. A goal disallowed to Malaga by VAR in the 73rd minute added more controversy to an already charged match. Referee Manuel Jesús Orellana Cid showed a total of 7 yellow cards (3 to Malaga and 4 to Cordoba) and one red (to Cordoba), reflecting the hardness of the match. Although Malaga dominated possession and made more shots on goal, Cordoba demonstrated their fighting ability and resilience to take a valuable point from La Rosaleda.
