Krasnodar Edges Out Makhachkala in Thrilling Encounter at Anzhi Arena
Kaspiysk, Russia – FC Krasnodar secured a 4-3 victory over Makhachkala in a dramatic match at the Anzhi Arena on Thursday, April 25th. The game, part of the 26th round of the Russian Premier League, was a rollercoaster ride until the final whistle.
Krasnodar started strongly, taking the lead through M. D. Cobnan in the 6th minute, assisted by J. Cordoba. However, Makhachkala responded with a goal from M. Hosseinnejad in the 25th minute, leveling the score. Joao Batxi put Krasnodar back in front before halftime (45′).
In the second half, Spertsyan scored twice for Krasnodar (65′ and 79′, the second from a missed penalty that went in). But Makhachkala fought back, with Zinovich pulling one back in the 86′ and missing a penalty in the 90′. The match was punctuated by numerous yellow cards for both teams, and a red card for Krasnodar’s Diego Costa in the 80th minute. Despite the sending off, Krasnodar held on for the win.
