Machida Zelvia Secures Home Victory Against Nagoya Grampus in Thrilling Match
Machida, Japan – In a hard-fought match at the Machida GION Stadium, Machida Zelvia secured an important victory against Nagoya Grampus with a final score of 3 to 1. The match, corresponding to the 37th matchday of the J1 League, was marked by the intensity and effectiveness of the home team.
The first half saw Machida Zelvia take the lead thanks to a goal by M. Duke in the 42nd minute, assisted by I. Dresevic. Previously, Y. Nogami of Nagoya Grampus had received a yellow card. H. Nakamura of Machida Zelvia was also cautioned just before halftime.
At the start of the second half, H. Nakamura extended Machida Zelvia’s lead in the 50th minute, assisted by M. Duke. Shortly after, M. Duke received a yellow card. Nagoya Grampus pulled one back in the 60th minute through a penalty converted by S. Inagaki. However, Machida Zelvia sealed the victory in the 72nd minute with a goal by G. Shoji, assisted by K. Sento.
Despite Nagoya Grampus having more ball possession (63% compared to Machida Zelvia’s 37%) and taking more shots (17 compared to 10), Machida Zelvia’s effectiveness was key to securing the victory. Machida Zelvia had 6 shots on target compared to Nagoya Grampus’ 3. The match was characterized by a high number of fouls committed by Machida Zelvia (17), who also received three yellow cards. I. Dresevic of Machida Zelvia received a yellow card in the 90th minute.
