Machida Zelvia dominated Kashiwa Reysol with a convincing 3-0 victory at the Machida Gion Stadium in Tokyo. The match, part of the 17th round of the 2025 J1 League, was characterized by the home team’s clinical finishing despite having less possession.
K. Hayashi opened the scoring in the 4th minute with a well-taken goal. An own goal by T. Koga in the 15th minute extended Machida Zelvia’s lead. Kashiwa Reysol tried to fight back, but a penalty converted by Na Sang-Ho in the 45th minute sealed the victory for Machida Zelvia.
Despite Kashiwa Reysol enjoying greater possession (64%), Machida Zelvia proved more efficient in attack, registering 13 shots (3 on target) compared to their opponent’s 7 (3 on target). Disciplinary records also favoured the home side, with only one yellow card shown, while Kashiwa Reysol remained without any cautions.
