Machida Zelvia Stuns Kashima at Home
Tokyo, Japan – In a thrilling match held at Machida Gion Stadium, Machida Zelvia secured a victory over Kashima, leaving the local fans elated. The match, part of the J1 League’s 21st round, witnessed an early dominance from Machida Zelvia, who capitalized on their chances to take the lead.
From the opening whistle, Machida Zelvia displayed great intensity. Y. Soma opened the scoring in the 6th minute with a goal assisted by K. Hayashi. The lead was extended in the 34th minute thanks to a goal by D. Okamura, assisted by H. Shimoda, leaving Kashima in a difficult position.
While Kashima dominated possession with 66%, Machida Zelvia proved effective in containing their opponents and dangerous on the counter-attack. Despite Kashima’s attempts to turn the situation around, including a penalty goal converted by Y. Suzuki in the 85th minute, Machida Zelvia managed to maintain their lead until the end of the match.
