Thrilling Draw in Israeli Derby Marred by Controversy
Netanya, Israel – A hard-fought match between Maccabi Netanya and Maccabi Tel Aviv culminated in a 1-1 draw at Netanya Stadium, corresponding to matchday 15 of the Ligat Ha’al. The match, played on December 21, 2025, was filled with tension and controversial moments.
Maccabi Tel Aviv took the lead in the 14th minute thanks to a goal by D. Peretz, after a play without apparent assist. However, the joy was short-lived for the visitors, as O. Bilu equalized for Maccabi Netanya in the 18th minute.
The first half was marked by aggression in midfield, reflected in a series of yellow cards. A. Ouattara of Netanya was booked in the 9th minute, while N. Ben Harush and M.
