Paris Saint-Germain defeated Olympique Lyonnais 4-2 in a thrilling match at the Groupama Stadium in Décines-Charpieu on February 23rd, 2025. Despite PSG’s superior possession (67%), the game was full of twists and turns.
Hakimi opened the scoring for PSG in the 53rd minute, assisted by Barcola. Dembélé extended the lead in the 59th minute, thanks to a pass from Kvaratskhelia, making it 2-0. However, Lyon fought back with goals from Cherki (83rd minute) and Tolisso (90th minute), the latter assisted by Maitland-Niles. Hakimi scored his second goal in the 85th minute, assisted by Lee Kang-In, sealing the victory for PSG. The match also saw yellow cards for PSG’s Hakimi and Lyon’s Almada. Despite Lyon’s efforts, with 12 shots on goal, 7 on target, PSG proved more clinical.
