Ludogorets Secures Dramatic Extra-Time Victory Over Shkendija
Razgrad, August 28, 2025 – Ludogorets overcame Shkendija in a match full of intensity and excitement, valid for the UEFA Europa League Play-offs, played at the Huvepharma Arena. The match, refereed by Swiss referee Urs Schnyder, ended with a score that reflected the constant struggle of both teams.
Ludogorets dominated possession with 62%, translating into a greater number of scoring opportunities. E. Kurtulus opened the scoring for the home side in the 9th minute, followed by I. Chochev in the 24th, extending the lead. However, Shkendija did not give up, and F. Tamba pulled one back in the 64th minute, assisted by B. Ibraimi.
The match remained tense, with several yellow cards shown, two for Shkendija to L. Latifi and B. Ibraimi in the 26th minute, and one for the home side to E. Krasniqi in the 82nd minute.
The score remained equal until extra time, where Ludogorets demonstrated their physical and tactical superiority. B. Tekpetey scored in the 98th minute, followed by E. Bile in the 120th minute, sealing the victory for the Bulgarian team.
