Liverpool Thrash West Ham in a Goal-Filled Match at Anfield
Liverpool, England – In an electrifying match played at Anfield, Liverpool convincingly defeated West Ham with a final score of 5 to 2. The match, corresponding to the 28th matchday of the 2025 Premier League, was a festival of goals and excitement.
Liverpool opened the scoring early, in the 5th minute, with a goal by H. Ekitike after an excellent assist from R. Gravenberch. V. van Dijk extended the lead for the home side in the 24th minute, thanks to a precise pass from D. Szoboszlai. Before halftime, A. Mac Allister added to the goal-scoring spree in the 43rd minute, again with an assist from Ekitike.
West Ham attempted to react in the second half. T. Soucek reduced the deficit in the 49th minute, assisted by M. Diouf. However, C. Gakpo increased Liverpool’s lead in the 70th minute, with Ekitike once again involved in the goal. T. Castellanos brought West Ham closer again in the 75th minute, assisted by J. Bowen. An own goal by A. Disasi in the 82nd minute, provoked by J. Frimpong, sealed the victory for Liverpool.
The match was closely contested, with 50% possession for each team. Liverpool generated 18 shots, 7 of which were on target, while West Ham took 11 shots, with 4 of them directed at the goal. Referee Tim Robinson cautioned C. Gakpo and D. Szoboszlai for Liverpool, and S. Magassa and C. Summerville for West Ham.
