LDU de Quito beats Cumbayá in a vibrant match
Quito, Ecuador – Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito (LDU) defeated Cumbayá 3-1 in an exciting match of the second round of the Liga Pro 2024, played at the Rodrigo Paz Delgado Stadium.
The match began with an early goal by Cumbayá in the 22nd minute, scored by L. Gustavino, assisted by M. Valencia. However, LDU was not discouraged and found the equalizer in the 61st minute with a goal from A. Arce, thanks to an assist from Jhojan Julio.
The second half of the match was a back-and-forth affair between both teams. LDU de Quito took the lead on the scoreboard in the 66th minute with a goal from L. Alzugaray, assisted by A. Arce.
The home team had an excellent performance in the second half and demonstrated their superiority on the field. They dominated possession of the ball and created numerous scoring opportunities. Despite the expulsion of Jhojan Julio for a foul in the 90th minute, LDU de Quito managed to control the game and secure the victory.
