Kazakhstan Thrashes Liechtenstein in Vaduz
Kazakhstan secured a convincing 2-0 victory over Liechtenstein at the Rheinpark Stadion in Vaduz, in a World Cup 2026 qualifying group stage match. The match, refereed by John Beaton of Scotland, took place on March 25th, 2025.
The Kazakhs dominated the match, holding 70% possession and creating numerous goal-scoring opportunities. M. Samorodov opened the scoring in the 42nd minute, assisted by M. Bystrov. Just before halftime, in the 45th minute, A. Marochkin doubled the lead, with an assist from Samorodov. Liechtenstein, in contrast, barely threatened the Kazakh goal, managing only 3 shots, 2 on target.
Despite Kazakhstan’s dominance, the match was punctuated by yellow cards for R. Orazov (Kazakhstan) in the 19th minute and F. Oberwaditzer (Liechtenstein) in the 45th minute. The disparity in possession and shots on target clearly showcased Kazakhstan’s superiority and clinical finishing.
