Levante UD defeated CD Tenerife 2-1 in a thrilling match at the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia, corresponding to matchday 38 of the Segunda División. Despite slightly better possession for the home side (56%), the match was marked by tension and numerous cards. Álex Cantero put the visitors ahead in the 32nd minute, but Rubén Brugué managed to equalize in stoppage time (90′). Between both goals, the game was full of interruptions, with a total of 28 fouls (12 by Levante and 16 by Tenerife). Tenerife received four yellow cards and a red card at the end of the match, while Levante saw two yellow cards. Levante created more goal-scoring opportunities with 13 shots (2 on target), compared to Tenerife’s 9 (2 on target). Despite the numerical superiority in the final minutes, Tenerife couldn’t avoid defeat. The victory leaves Levante in a good position in the league table.
