Lens Secures Narrow Victory at Home Against Depleted Strasbourg

Lens, France – In a hard-fought match at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, Lens edged out Strasbourg by the narrowest of margins in a game defined by intensity and cards. Lens dominated possession with 55%, although both teams committed 13 fouls.

The first half was goalless, but saw yellow cards for Lens’ Card and Strasbourg’s El Mourabet early on. Tension continued in the second half, where I. Ganiou’s goal in the 69th minute, assisted by M. Udol, tilted the score in favor of Lens.

Strasbourg, who only managed one shot on target from seven attempts, saw their hopes dwindle with V. Barco’s red card in the 77th minute. Despite this, Lens was not immune to the referee’s discipline, suffering the expulsion of M. Guilavogui in the 90th minute, leaving both teams with ten men on the field at the end of the match.
