Legia Warszawa Claims Victory in a Tense Match Against AEK Larnaca
Warsaw witnessed a vibrant and controversial encounter between Legia Warszawa and AEK Larnaca, in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. Legia secured the victory with a strong offensive performance in the first half. J. Nsame opened the scoring in the 11th minute, assisted by P. Wszolek, and M. Rajovic extended the lead in the 16th minute, assisted by V. Bichakhchyan.
However, the match was not without controversy. AEK Larnaca had a goal by K. Angielski disallowed by VAR just before halftime due to a foul. In the second half, D. Ivanovic managed to reduce the deficit for AEK in the 52nd minute.
The intensity of the match was reflected in the large number of cards shown by referee Andris Treimanis. Legia received four yellow cards, while AEK Larnaca accumulated six yellow cards and one red card, the latter for J. Gnali.
