Millwall defeats Leeds in FA Cup Fourth Round thriller
Millwall secured a 2-1 victory over Leeds United in a thrilling FA Cup Fourth Round tie at Elland Road, Leeds, West Yorkshire on Friday, February 8th, 2025. Despite Leeds dominating possession (65%), Millwall proved more clinical in front of goal.
Millwall took the lead in the 30th minute through F. Azeez, assisted by J. Bryan. Azeez added a second on 55 minutes, this time unassisted, extending Millwall’s lead. Leeds pulled one back in the 60th minute when P. Struijk’s missed penalty ended up in his own net, making the score 2-1.
Leeds had 13 shots, 8 on target, while Millwall managed 9 shots, 2 on target. Discipline was a factor, with Leeds committing 9 fouls and receiving one yellow card, while Millwall committed 14 fouls and received two yellow cards. Despite their possession advantage, Leeds couldn’t find an equalizer, handing Millwall the victory in the FA Cup Fourth Round.
