Lechia Gdansk Stages Comeback Victory Against Stal Mielec
Gdańsk, Poland – Lechia Gdansk pulled off a dramatic comeback against Stal Mielec in a thrilling Ekstraklasa matchday 28 encounter at the Polsat Plus Arena Gdańsk on April 14th, 2025. Despite trailing by two goals at halftime, the home side dominated the second half to secure a 3-2 victory.
Stal Mielec took an early lead with goals from Gerbowski (33′) and Cavaleiro (42′). However, Lechia Gdansk, who enjoyed 62% possession and fired 24 shots (6 on target), responded strongly after the break. Bobcek pulled one back for the hosts in the 72nd minute, assisted by Kapic. In stoppage time, Neugebauer and Bobcek (both in the 90th minute) completed the comeback. The match was characterized by Lechia’s effectiveness in the closing stages and their persistent attacking play. Despite the disparity in shots and possession, Stal Mielec showed good efficiency in the first half. Esselink received the only yellow card of the game. The referee was Szymon Marciniak.
