Lechia Gdansk Edges Out Jagiellonia in Thrilling Gdansk Encounter
Lechia Gdansk secured a 1-0 victory over Jagiellonia Bialystok in a hard-fought match at the Polsat Plus Arena Gdańsk on March 29th, 2025. The game, part of the 26th round of the Polish Ekstraklasa, saw Lechia prevail despite having less possession (44%). Their effectiveness in front of goal proved decisive, with 5 shots on target compared to Jagiellonia’s solitary effort. Bogdan Viunnyk scored the only goal of the game in the 65th minute, capitalizing on a well-placed assist from Blerim Pllana. The match was a physical encounter with a total of 18 fouls (10 by Lechia and 8 by Jagiellonia) and two yellow cards shown to Lechia players (D. Pila in the 44th minute and M. Kalahur in the 90th).
