Serbia Secures Victory Over Latvia in Riga with Early Goal
Riga, September 6, 2025 – Serbia secured a valuable away victory at the Daugavas Stadiona in Riga, defeating Latvia in a World Cup Qualification group stage match. The lone goal of the match came early, in the 12th minute, courtesy of D. Vlahovic, who capitalized on a precise assist from A. Katai to put the Serbians ahead.
The match, officiated by Julian Weinberger from Austria, was characterized by a contested midfield battle. Latvia, with 46% possession, attempted to create danger, but only managed 6 shots, with only 2 on target.
