Thrilling Draw in Riga: Andorra Snatches a Point Against Latvia
Riga, October 11, 2025 – In a hard-fought match at the Daugavas Stadiona, Andorra secured a valuable 2-2 draw against Latvia in a World Cup Qualification Europe match. Bulgarian referee Georgi Kabakov officiated the game.
Andorra surprised early on with a goal from Marc San Nicolas in the 33rd minute, assisted by B. Rosas, making it 0-1. However, Latvia reacted before halftime with a goal from D. Zelenkovs in the 41st minute, leveling the score.
In the second half, Latvia took the lead in the 55th minute thanks to a penalty converted by V. Gutkovskis. Previously, in the 62nd minute, a goal by the same Gutkovskis was disallowed by VAR due to an offside. When it seemed that the victory would stay at home, Andorra surprised again with a goal from I. Oliveira in the 78th minute, assisted by G. Lopez, making it the final score of 2-2.
The match was tense, with a total of four yellow cards (one for Latvia and three for Andorra) and one red card for Andorra, shown to J. Guillen in the 90th minute for a second booking.
