Dender EH pulled off a stunning upset against KVC Westerlo in a thrilling match at Het Kuipje in Westerlo. The game, part of the Conference League Play-off Group – 7 in the Jupiler Pro League, ended with a 3-4 victory for Dender EH. Despite having less possession (46% vs 54%), Dender proved more clinical in attack. The match was a high-scoring affair, starting with a missed penalty by Nsimba that resulted in an own goal in the 5th minute. Kvet extended Dender’s lead in the 37th minute. Westerlo pulled one back before halftime with a penalty converted by Sayyadmanesh in the 45th minute. Nsimba scored a penalty for Dender in the 61st minute, but Westerlo fought back with goals from Frigan (76′) and Yow (88′), both from the penalty spot. Westerlo also added a late goal through Sydorchuk (90′). The match was intense, with two yellow cards for Westerlo in the second half and numerous goal-scoring opportunities for both teams (12 shots for Dender and 15 for Westerlo). Despite Westerlo’s late comeback, Dender EH secured a hard-fought victory in a captivating match.
