Kosovo Edges Out Lithuania in Tense Prishtinë Encounter
Prishtinë, November 18, 2024 – Kosovo secured a 1-0 victory over Lithuania in a thrilling UEFA Nations League League C match at the Stadiumi Fadil Vokrri. The game, officiated by Kristoffer Hagenes from Norway, was characterized by a red card for Kosovo and a high number of fouls.
M. Jashari’s early goal in the 5th minute, assisted by V. Muriqi, proved to be the decisive moment. Despite their early lead, Kosovo played a man down from the 45th minute following Jashari’s red card. However, they managed to hold on to their advantage until the final whistle. Possession was relatively even (51% for Kosovo, 49% for Lithuania), but Kosovo had a clear advantage in shots on target (2 to 1). Both teams received one yellow card each, with Kosovo additionally receiving a red card. Fouls were abundant, with Kosovo committing 10 and Lithuania 11. Despite the tense atmosphere, Kosovo showed remarkable resilience to claim the win.
