Kosovo and Iceland played an exciting match at the Stadiumi Fadil Vokrri in Prishtinë on March 20th, 2025, as part of the 2024 UEFA Nations League B/C Playoffs. The match, refereed by Serdar Gozubuyuk from the Netherlands, was a back-and-forth affair. Kosovo took the lead in the 19th minute with a goal from L. Dellova, assisted by A. Rrahmani. However, Iceland responded quickly, equalizing in the 22nd minute through O. Oskarsson, assisted by I. Johannesson. The second half was even more intense. E. Rexhbecaj scored for Kosovo in the 58th minute, but a VAR-ruled goal disallowed in the 76th minute prevented a wider victory for the home side. The match finished with a 2-1 win for Kosovo. Despite Iceland holding 56% possession, Kosovo created more goal-scoring opportunities, with 18 shots (6 on target) compared to Iceland’s 8 (7 on target). Both teams finished the game with two yellow cards each.
