Hibernian Edges Out Kilmarnock in Close Encounter
Hibernian secured a 2-1 victory over Kilmarnock at The BBSP Stadium Rugby Park in Kilmarnock on March 15th, 2025. The Premiership match, refereed by K. Clancy, was a closely fought contest, with possession fairly evenly split (51% Hibernian, 49% Kilmarnock).
Hibernian took the lead in the 25th minute through a goal from Martin Boyle, assisted by Dylan Levitt. However, Kilmarnock fought back and equalised deep into injury time, with Fraser Murray scoring in the 90th minute, assisted by Jordan Wright. The game was a tense affair, evidenced by two yellow cards for Kilmarnock players (Deas and Ndaba) and the higher number of fouls committed by Hibernian (13) compared to Kilmarnock’s 10. Despite Kilmarnock’s late resurgence, Hibernian created more scoring opportunities, registering 15 shots (3 on target) to Kilmarnock’s 10 (4 on target).
