Khimki and Fakel met in a thrilling match at the Arena Khimki, corresponding to matchday 19 of the Russian Premier League. Despite Fakel’s greater possession (58%), Khimki took the lead in the 15th minute thanks to a goal by E. Farina, assisted by A. Zabolotnyi. The match was characterized by increased intensity in the second half, with more open play. While Fakel generated more scoring chances (13 shots to Khimki’s 8), they only managed to beat the goalkeeper on three occasions, compared to Khimki’s two. Despite Fakel’s offensive pressure, Khimki managed to defend well and hold on to the result.
