Khalidiya thrashes Altyn Asyr in a thrilling AFC Cup encounter
Riffa, Bahrain – In a match played at the Bahrain National Stadium on December 4th, 2024, Khalidiya secured a convincing 4-0 victory over Altyn Asyr in the sixth round of the 2024 AFC Cup group stage. The game, officiated by Razlan Joffri bin Ali from Malaysia, was dominated by the home side, who controlled possession (54%) and demonstrated clinical finishing.
M. D. Hasan M. A. opened the scoring in the 10th minute, assisted by D. Ismael. O. Belatreche was the star of the show, netting a hat-trick (47th, 55th, and 89th minutes), with assists from S. Dabo and Igor Torres respectively. Despite Altyn Asyr’s efforts, their lack of accuracy in front of goal (only 1 shot on target from 13 attempts) and Khalidiya’s strong defense prevented any comeback.
Khalidiya committed 13 fouls and received two yellow cards, while Altyn Asyr committed 10 fouls and also received two yellow cards. The dominance in shots on target (7 for Khalidiya against 1 for Altyn Asyr) highlights the disparity between the two teams.
