Austria Dominates Kazakhstan in Almaty with a 2-0 Victory
Austria secured a convincing 2-0 victory over Kazakhstan in their UEFA Nations League Group B, Matchday 5 clash. The match, played at the Central Stadium in Almaty on November 14th at 3 PM local time, saw Austria dominate possession (65% to 35%) and shots on target (8 to 1).
Christoph Baumgartner opened the scoring in the 15th minute, assisted by Stefan Posch. Michael Gregoritsch added a second goal in the 25th minute. Kazakhstan’s task was made even more difficult by Arsen Marochkin’s red card in the 23rd minute. Despite their efforts, Kazakhstan struggled to create opportunities against Austria’s strong defense. Kazakhstan committed 12 fouls and received one yellow and one red card, while Austria remained disciplined with only 8 fouls. Austria had 23 shots, 8 on target; Kazakhstan managed only 6 shots with just one on target.
The win puts Austria in a strong position in the battle for promotion in the Nations League.
