Kashiwa Reysol Stages Comeback to Defeat Cerezo Osaka in Thrilling Match
Kashiwa, Japan – Kashiwa Reysol defeated Cerezo Osaka 2-1 in a thrilling encounter at the SANKYO FRONTIER Kashiwa Stadium on Tuesday, February 26th, in the third round of the 2025 J1 League. The match, officiated by Masuya Ueda, was characterized by intensity and a dramatic turnaround.
Cerezo Osaka took the lead in the 13th minute with a goal from S. Kitano, assisted by R. Nishio. However, Kashiwa Reysol fought back and overturned the scoreline in the second half. Y. Kakita equalized in the 66th minute, assisted by K. Kinoshita, and Kinoshita himself sealed the victory with a goal in the 74th minute.
Despite the loss, Cerezo Osaka enjoyed decent ball possession (42%) and had 11 shots on goal, although only 3 were on target. Kashiwa Reysol dominated possession with 58%, registering 10 shots (3 on target).
