Viktoria Plzeň Secures Hard-Fought Victory Over Karviná
Viktoria Plzeň edged out Karviná 2-1 in a closely contested match at Městský Stadión in Karviná on December 8th, 2024, as part of the Czech Liga’s 18th round. Although Plzeň held a slight possession advantage (52% to 48%), their clinical finishing proved decisive. Karviná took an early lead through A. Memic’s goal in the 14th minute, but Plzeň rallied in the second half. Two goals from P. Sulc, in the 76th and 86th minutes, turned the game around and secured the victory for Viktoria Plzeň. Despite Karviná’s 9 shots (3 on target), Plzeň’s defense held firm. Plzeň registered 14 shots, with 4 finding the target. The match was officiated by Karel Roucek. Karviná received one yellow card and committed 18 fouls, while Plzeň committed 7 fouls and received no cards.
