Internacional Thrashes Cruzeiro in Dominant Display
Internacional of Porto Alegre secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Cruzeiro at the Estádio José Pinheiro Borda in a Serie A match of the 2025 Brazilian Championship. The game, played on April 6th at 9:30 PM, was dominated by the home side from start to finish.
The goals came in the second half, following a first half that saw Cruzeiro reduced to ten men after Jonathan Jesus’ red card at the 20th minute and a yellow card for Cassio at the 24th minute. Alan Patrick opened the scoring in the 31st minute, assisted by A. Bernabei. Enner Valencia added a second in the 37th minute, assisted by Wesley. While Wesley had a goal disallowed for handball in the 57th minute, Rafael Borré sealed the victory in the 77th minute, with an assist from O. Romero.
Internacional controlled possession (68%) and created numerous goal-scoring opportunities (23 shots, 11 on target). Cruzeiro, in contrast, offered little attacking threat, managing just 5 shots, none of which were on target. The statistics clearly reflected the home side’s dominance.
