Independiente Medellín Dominates and Defeats La Equidad at Home
Medellín, Colombia – Independiente Medellín convincingly defeated La Equidad in a match played at the Estadio Atanasio Girardot. The home team dominated possession with 69% and created numerous scoring opportunities, converting three of them. F. Fydriszewski opened the scoring in the 10th minute, assisted by F. Chaverra, who also provided an assist for B. Perlaza’s goal in the 39th minute. In the second half, B. Leon sealed the victory with a goal in the 85th minute.
La Equidad, with only 31% possession, struggled to create danger and only managed one shot on target. M. Rodas scored from a penalty in the 90th minute, but it wasn’t enough to change the course of the match. The match was also marked by several yellow cards, three for La Equidad and two for Independiente Medellín. Referee Carlos Ortega had his work cut out for him in a match where the intensity did not wane until the final whistle. The final score was Independiente Medellín 3, La Equidad 1.
