IF Elfsborg and IK Sirius played a thrilling match in the 5th round of the 2025 Allsvenskan, held at Borås Arena in Borås, Sweden on April 23rd. The match, refereed by Richard Sundell, ended in a vibrant 5-3 victory for IF Elfsborg.
The encounter began with an early goal by A. Sigurpalsson for Elfsborg in the 11th minute, but Sirius quickly responded, equalizing in the 30th minute with a penalty converted by L. Walta. Elfsborg regained the lead in the 37th minute thanks to a goal by T. Silverholt. However, Sirius remained in the game and managed to equalize again in the 55th minute with a goal from R. Ure. The second half was an exchange of blows, with L. Walta scoring his second personal goal in the 64th minute to put Sirius ahead. Elfsborg, however, showed their ability to react and managed to score two more goals, one in the 68th minute by R. Wikstrom and another in the 86th minute by S. Hedlund, thus sealing a resounding victory.
Both teams displayed offensive gameplay, with similar possession percentages (50% each). Elfsborg had 16 shots (5 on target), while Sirius had 14 (8 on target). Elfsborg received one yellow card, while Sirius accumulated three.
