Vukojevic’s Brace Leads Degerfors to Hard-Fought Victory Against Elfsborg in Borås
Borås, Sweden – In a tightly contested match at the Borås Arena, Degerfors IF secured an important away victory against IF Elfsborg. An early brace from D. Vukojevic, in the 8th and 36th minutes, assisted by N. Girmai and S. Haarala respectively, put Degerfors in an advantageous position.
The match, officiated by Richard Sundell, was marked by intensity and midfield battles. IF Elfsborg, dominating possession with 60%, relentlessly sought to close the gap, but encountered a well-organized Degerfors defense. The home side’s efforts were rewarded in the 76th minute with a goal from P. Frick, but it wasn’t enough to change the course of the game.
The encounter was also filled with cautions, with yellow cards for D. Sundgren and K. Karlsson for Degerfors, and for Wenderson and N. Hult for Elfsborg. Despite Elfsborg’s higher number of shots (15 against Degerfors’ 13), the visitors’ effectiveness in front of goal proved decisive. Degerfors took all three points with a final score of 2 to 1.
