IFK Goteborg Overpowers Brommapojkarna in Card-Filled Match
Stockholm was the setting for a hard-fought match between IF Brommapojkarna and IFK Goteborg, corresponding to matchday 12 of the Allsvenskan. IFK Goteborg took the victory at Grimsta IP with a final score of 3 to 1.
The match, refereed by Kristoffer Karlsson, was marked by a high number of fouls and cautions. The first warning came early, in the 8th minute, for E. Alladoh of Brommapojkarna. Goteborg’s response was swift, with K. Thordarson opening the scoring in the 24th minute, assisted by T. Heintz. Thordarson, however, received a yellow card shortly after, in the 27th minute.
The intensity of the game did not diminish, and N. Bahoui of Brommapojkarna and G. Svensson of Goteborg saw yellow cards before the break. In the 43rd minute, K. Thordarson once again found the back of the net for Brommapojkarna, this time assisted by E. Markovic, extending Goteborg’s lead.
Brommapojkarna tried to react in the second half, and A. Jakobsen pulled one back in the 63rd minute from a penalty. However, Goteborg’s defense remained firm, and in added time, S. Clemmensen sealed the victory for his team with a goal in the 90th minute.
Although Brommapojkarna had 42% possession and 11 shots, only 2 were on target. Goteborg dominated with 58% possession and 12 shots, of which 4 were on target. The match ended with a total of 7 yellow cards, 3 for Brommapojkarna and 4 for Goteborg, reflecting the toughness of the encounter.
