Controversial Match in Buenos Aires Ends with Once Caldas Victory
In a tense and controversial encounter, Once Caldas defeated Huracán at the Estadio Tomás Adolfo Ducó in Buenos Aires, in a match corresponding to the round of 16 of the CONMEBOL Sudamericana. The match, officiated by Brazilian referee Paulo Cesar Zanovelli da Silva, was marked by cards and controversial refereeing decisions.
Huracán dominated possession with 63% compared to Once Caldas’ 37%, and generated more scoring opportunities, with 17 total shots compared to their opponent’s 13. However, the visitors’ effectiveness was crucial. A goal disallowed for Huracán for offside in the 6th minute, after VAR review, ignited tempers.
The first half ended in a one-one draw. Miljevic put Huracán ahead from the penalty spot in the 39th minute, but the home side’s joy was short-lived, as Moreno equalized for Once Caldas a minute later. Just before halftime, Bisanz’s sending-off further complicated matters for the Argentine team.

Near the end, Moreno sealed the match with his second goal, assisted by Zapata Ramírez, in the 88th minute, sealing the victory for the Colombian team.
The match ended with a high number of cards: three yellow and two red for Huracán, and three yellow for Once Caldas. Despite dominating possession, Huracán failed to capitalize on their opportunities and ended up conceding the victory to an effective and opportunistic Once Caldas.
