Huachipato Crushes Everton de Viña at Estadio CAP
Talcahuano, February 23, 2025 – Huachipato achieved a resounding 4-0 victory over Everton de Viña del Mar in a match played at the Estadio CAP in Talcahuano, corresponding to the second round of the 2025 Chilean Primera División season. The match, refereed by Manuel Vergara, was characterized by Huachipato’s superiority, especially in the first half.
The home side opened the scoring in the 30th minute with a goal from Leonardo Altamirano, assisted by Luis Vásquez. In the 39th minute, Marcelo Briceno extended the lead, assisted by Rodrigo Odriozola. Before halftime, Carlos Villanueva scored the third in the 44th minute, thanks to a pass from Juan Antonio Martínez. In the second half, Altamirano scored his second goal in the 52nd minute, assisted by Briceno, sealing a rout that reflected the local team’s dominance.
Despite having less possession (45% compared to Everton’s 55%), Huachipato was more effective in creating goal-scoring opportunities, registering 11 shots (5 on target), while Everton managed 10 (4 on target). The match ended with two yellow cards for Huachipato and one for Everton. The victory leaves Huachipato in a strong position in the Primera División table.
