Coquimbo Unido Capitalizes on Early Red Card to Secure Victory in Talcahuano
Talcahuano, Chile – In a match held at the Estadio CAP, Coquimbo Unido triumphed over Huachipato in a game defined by the early expulsion of L. Altamirano in the 14th minute. The opening goal by C. Waterman, assisted by J. Cornejo, just two minutes into the game, gave Coquimbo the initial lead, which they managed effectively with an extra man on the field.
Despite having 57% possession, Huachipato failed to translate their dominance into clear scoring opportunities, managing only three shots on target out of eight attempts. Frustration was evident with the numerous yellow cards received by the home team, including one for R. Caroca in the 70th minute.
Coquimbo Unido, on the other hand, took advantage of their numerical superiority to control the pace of the game. While their possession was lower (43%), they generated more danger with 12 shots, although only three of them were directed at the opponent’s goal. Referee Mathias Riquelme issued a total of eight yellow cards in the match, four for each team.
