Rijeka defeats Hajduk Split in thrilling Cup clash
HNK Rijeka triumphed over HNK Hajduk Split with a 3-1 victory in a captivating Croatian Cup quarter-final match at the Stadion Poljud in Split. The game, played on February 26th, 2025, was marked by intensity and excitement from the outset.
Rijeka took an early lead with goals from N. Djouahra (6′) and T. Fruk (13′), demonstrating impressive offensive efficiency. M. Livaja pulled one back for Hajduk Split in the 29th minute, but Fruk struck again in the 51st minute to virtually seal the victory for Rijeka.
Hajduk Split finished the match with three yellow cards, while Rijeka received two. Despite the defeat, Hajduk Split showed determination, but couldn’t overcome the deficit on the scoreboard. Rijeka’s victory sends them through to the Cup semi-finals.
