Helmond Sport Rout MVV in Dominant Display
Helmond, Netherlands – Helmond Sport secured a convincing 4-0 victory over MVV at the GS Staalwerken Stadion on Thursday, March 7th, 2025, in the 29th round of the Eerste Divisie. The home team dominated the match, exhibiting clear superiority in both possession (53%) and shots on target (21 shots, 11 on target).
Helmond Sport’s goals came early. A. van den Hurk opened the scoring in the 10th minute, assisted by T. Essakkati. M. Doudah extended the lead in the 14th minute, with an assist from L. Daneels. Van den Hurk scored again in the 23rd minute, thanks to a pass from Doudah, making it 3-0 before halftime. In the second half, D. Sits sealed the victory with a goal in the 79th minute, assisted by H. Ingason.
Despite the defeat, MVV attempted a reaction, but their lack of effectiveness (only 3 shots on target from 14 attempts) prevented them from closing the gap. The match was interrupted by numerous fouls, with MVV committing 11 and Helmond Sport 7. Referee M. van den Kerkhof showed only one yellow card, to Helmond Sport’s A. Absalem. Helmond Sport demonstrated great superiority in all aspects of the game, sealing a deserved victory.
