Pachuca Edges Out Chivas in Thrilling Match at Estadio AKRON
Zapopan, Mexico – Pachuca defeated Chivas de Guadalajara 2-1 in a thrilling match played at Estadio AKRON on February 23, 2025, corresponding to matchday 8 of the Liga MX Clausura. Despite Pachuca’s superior possession (62%), the game was marked by its intensity and numerous cards.
The Tuzos opened the scoring in the 7th minute with a goal from A. González, assisted by O. Idrissi. Chivas equalized in the 18th minute with a goal from A. Pulido, and then took the lead in the 37th minute thanks to L. Romo. However, Pachuca’s superiority in shots on goal (19 shots to 7) ultimately reflected in the final score. The match was filled with cards; Chivas accumulated 4 yellow cards and one red, while Pachuca received 4 yellow cards. The expulsion of a Chivas player in the final minutes proved to be a turning point.
