Mirassol Stuns Grêmio in Porto Alegre with Narrow Victory
Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul – In a match held at the Arena do Grêmio, Mirassol pulled off an upset by defeating Grêmio in matchday 23 of the Brazilian Serie A. The only goal of the game came just before halftime, when Alesson, assisted, opened the scoring for the visiting team.
The match, officiated by Lucas Casagrande, was intense from the start, with a contested game in midfield. Mirassol showed defensive solidity and took advantage of one of their opportunities to take all three points. Grêmio, with greater ball possession (56% compared to Mirassol’s 44%), failed to convert their chances into goals.
