Czech Republic thrashes Gibraltar in Faro
In a match played at the Estádio Do Algarve in Faro, the Czech Republic convincingly defeated Gibraltar 4-0 in the World Cup Qualifying group stage. Czech dominance was overwhelming, reflected in 80% possession and 28 shots, 10 of which were on target.
The Czech Republic opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a goal from V. Cerny, assisted by P. Sulc. P. Schick extended the lead in the 50th minute, assisted by V. Cerny. The third goal came in the 72nd minute, scored by P. Sulc, assisted by T. Soucek. Finally, J. Kliment sealed the victory in the 90th minute with an assist from L. Provod.
Gibraltar, on the other hand, barely threatened the opposing goal with only one shot, which was off target. The Gibraltarian team struggled against the Czech Republic’s superiority and accumulated three yellow cards. The Czech Republic received only one yellow card. The referee was Horatiu Fesnic from Romania.
