KAA Gent edged out KV Kortrijk 2-1 in a thrilling match at the Planet Group Arena in Gent on March 16th, 2025, in the 30th round of the Jupiler Pro League. The game, officiated by Kevin van Damme, was marked by intensity and tension, reflected in the number of cards shown.
Kortrijk took the lead in the 45th minute with a goal from T. Ambrose, assisted by N. Mehssatou Sepulveda. However, Kortrijk accumulated several cautions: A. Sissako (58′), M. Mampassi (82′), T. Ambrose (85′), L. Pirard (90′) and J. Ndjeungoue (90′, red card). The latter received a red card at the end of the match, hindering the team’s comeback.
Kortrijk’s second goal arrived in the 70th minute through M. Ilaimaharitra, assisted by K. Kostons. Gent dominated possession (56%), but Kortrijk managed to create goal-scoring opportunities (3 shots on target).
KAA Gent equalized in stoppage time with a goal from N. Fadiga (90th minute), who also received a yellow card at the end of the match. Despite the possession advantage, Gent had fewer shots than Kortrijk (9 vs 7). The victory was decided in the final minutes, leaving a close and exciting match for the spectators.
