Genk Overcomes Zulte Waregem in Thrilling Match
Genk, Belgium – In a hard-fought match at the Cegeka Arena, Genk managed to overcome Zulte Waregem in a game filled with goals, cards, and tense moments. Despite Zulte Waregem opening the scoring early, in the 2nd minute with a goal by J. Erenbjerg, Genk responded emphatically.
M. Sadick equalized in the 13th minute, followed by a goal from R. Mirisola in the 29th minute, putting Genk ahead. However, the joy was short-lived as M. Sadick received a red card in the 33rd minute, leaving Genk with one less player. A. Tanghe capitalized on the opportunity to score from a penalty in the 35th minute, tying the game again.
The second half saw Genk demonstrate their mettle. Z. El Ouahdi scored in the 56th minute, giving Genk the definitive lead. Despite being a man down for a significant part of the match, Genk managed to maintain composure and secure the victory.
