Gençlerbirliği Rout Pendikspor in a Disciplinary-Marred Match
Ankara, February 16, 2025.- Gençlerbirliği secured a resounding 3-0 victory over Pendikspor at the Eryaman Stadyumu in a Turkish 1. Lig matchday 25 clash. The game was characterized by the home team’s dominance and the sending off of two Pendikspor players.
Gençlerbirliği controlled possession (68%) and created numerous scoring chances, registering 18 shots (6 on target). Joca opened the scoring in the 35th minute, assisted by Amilton. An own goal by E. Canpolat in the 45th minute doubled their lead. In the second half, Leo Gaucho added a third goal in the 76th minute, with an assist from M. Mimaroglu.
Pendikspor struggled to create opportunities, managing only 7 shots (none on target). Their performance was hampered by the red card shown to Welinton in the 8th minute and a second yellow card and subsequent red card for F. Dogan in the 87th minute. They also received four yellow cards throughout the match. Pendikspor’s lack of discipline was a key factor in the final result.
