Gençlerbirliği defeats Erokspor in a tense match in Ankara
Ankara, February 7, 2025 – Gençlerbirliği defeated Erokspor 2-1 in a match played at the Eryaman Stadyumu in Ankara, corresponding to matchday 23 of the Turkish 1. Lig. The match was marked by tension and an accumulation of cards, with a total of seven cautions for Erokspor and two for Gençlerbirliği, including one sending off for the home team.
O. Kayode opened the scoring for Erokspor in the 8th minute, taking advantage of a pass from H. Catakovic. However, Gençlerbirliği dominated possession (66%) and created more scoring chances (14 shots, 2 on target). Amilton equalized in the 75th minute, and subsequently Erokspor was weakened by the expulsion of E. Kilicarslan. Finally, Gençlerbirliği secured victory thanks to Amilton’s effectiveness.
