Goalless Draw in Skopje between North Macedonia and Latvia
Skopje witnessed a friendly match between North Macedonia and Latvia that ended in a 0-0 draw. The game, played at the Toše Proeski Arena, under the watchful eye of Montenegrin referee Miloš Savović, was characterized by equal possession (50% for each team) and a notable lack of effectiveness in front of goal.
While North Macedonia attempted to create danger with seven shots on target and three off target, the Latvian defense proved solid. On the other hand, Latvia, despite having four shots off target and only three on target, failed to convert any opportunities. The game was disrupted by numerous fouls, 17 committed by Latvia and 8 by North Macedonia. The referee showed five yellow cards, three to Latvian players (J. Ikaunieks, V. Gutkovskis, and R. Savalnieks) and two to Macedonians (N. Serafimov and T. Kostadinov). The match, part of the 2025 international friendlies, left a bitter taste for both squads, who will need to sharpen their aim for future commitments.
