Fortaleza FC falls to Llaneros in a tense Bogotá clash
Fortaleza FC suffered a defeat against Llaneros in a match played at the Estadio Metropolitano de Techo in Bogotá, corresponding to matchday 14 of the Colombian Primera A. The game, played on April 18th, 2025, and officiated by Mauricio Manuel Mercado Palencia, was marked by tension and expulsions.
Llaneros slightly dominated possession (52%) and, although they generated fewer shots on target (1 of 11), their greater defensive effectiveness and Ricaurte’s red card in the 45th minute for Fortaleza FC were key to the result. Fortaleza, despite having more shots (13, 5 on target), couldn’t capitalize on their opportunities. The winning goal for Llaneros arrived in the 81st minute thanks to a goal by K. Florez, assisted by R. Pajaro. The match ended with a 1-0 score in favor of Llaneros. Ricaurte’s red card was a turning point in the game. Several cautions were also given, two to Llaneros and one to Fortaleza. Despite Fortaleza’s corner kick dominance (10 to Llaneros’ 11), the difference in final effectiveness determined the outcome.
