Flamengo Defeats Mirassol in a Hard-Fought Match at Maracanã
Rio de Janeiro, August 9, 2025 – In a vibrant match corresponding to matchday 19 of Serie A, Flamengo defeated Mirassol at the Estadio Jornalista Mário Filho, known as Maracanã. The match, refereed by Paulo Cesar Zanovelli da Silva, was marked by intensity and goal-scoring opportunities at both ends.
The first half saw Flamengo take the lead thanks to a goal by Leo Pereira in the 19th minute, assisted by Samuel Lino. Previously, Leo Ortiz had received a yellow card in the 11th minute.
In the second half, the match remained exciting. G. Plata extended Flamengo’s lead in the 68th minute, with an assist from G. de Arrascaeta. However, Mirassol did not give up and Gabriel scored in the 74th minute, unassisted. Despite Mirassol’s efforts, Flamengo managed to maintain the lead until the end. The match was physical, reflected in the 23 fouls committed by Flamengo and 14 by Mirassol. Joao Victor, from Mirassol, received a yellow card in the 54th minute.
