Flamengo Crushes Juventude in Dominant Display
Rio de Janeiro, April 17, 2025 – Flamengo achieved a resounding 7-0 victory over Juventude in a Serie A match played at the Estádio Jornalista Mário Filho. The home side controlled 67% of possession and created numerous scoring opportunities throughout the game.
The goals came early and often. Erick Pulgar opened the scoring in the 13th minute, assisted by Giorgian De Arrascaeta. Five minutes later, Guillermo Plata doubled the lead with an assist from Gerson. Danilo made it 3-0 in the 22nd minute, again with an assist from De Arrascaeta. Flamengo’s dominance continued in the second half. De Arrascaeta scored the fourth in the 56th minute, assisted by Michael. Pedro completed the rout with a hat-trick: one in the 71st minute (assisted by Wesley Franca), and two more in the 81st minute (one following a missed penalty and another without an assist).
Juventude offered little attacking threat, managing only four shots (one on target). Flamengo, in contrast, had 17 shots (8 on target). The disparity in possession and chances reflected the clear superiority of the home team. Wesley Franca received a yellow card in the 73rd minute, while Gilberto received one for Juventude in the 87th.
