Flamengo Demolishes Fortaleza EC in Goal-Filled Match
Rio de Janeiro, June 1, 2025 – In a match dominated from start to finish, Flamengo convincingly defeated Fortaleza EC at the Estadio Jornalista Mário Filho. The match, corresponding to matchday 11 of the Brazilian Serie A, ended with a resounding victory for the home team.
The scoring was opened in the 30th minute with a goal by G. de Arrascaeta, after a precise assist from Leo Ortiz. Flamengo, with 65% possession, controlled the pace of the game, while Fortaleza EC struggled to find gaps in the opposing defense.
In the second half, Flamengo’s offensive onslaught continued. Evertton Araujo extended the lead in the 48th minute, assisted by G. Varela. Luiz Araujo joined the goal-scoring party in the 56th minute, thanks to another assist from G. de Arrascaeta.
The Fortaleza EC defense failed to contain Flamengo’s relentless attack, and in the 71st minute, Michael scored the fourth goal, again assisted by G. Varela. Luiz Araujo sealed his personal brace in the 74th minute, assisted by Pedro.
Despite the defeat, Fortaleza EC sought to generate danger, but their efforts were limited by Flamengo’s solid defense. The visiting team had 35% possession and generated 11 shots, although only 3 were on target. Referee Gustavo Ervino Bauermann cautioned Alex Sandro of Flamengo and Ze Welison of Fortaleza EC.
